Who needs this
Founders who want a separate legal entity, limited liability, and the ownership structure investors expect before they write a cheque. You need at least two people to act as directors and shareholders (the same people can hold both roles). If you're the only owner, look at One Person Company instead.
Documents required
- PAN card for every proposed director and shareholder
- Aadhaar card
- Address proof no older than two months (utility bill or bank statement) or a driving licence
- A recent passport-size photograph for each director
- Proof of the registered office address, plus a No Objection Certificate from the owner if the premises are rented
Process & timeline

- How many directors does a Private Limited Company need?
- At least two, and at least one must be a resident of India. You can have up to fifteen directors without needing a special resolution.
- Is there a minimum capital requirement?
- No minimum paid-up capital is required. You still need to declare an authorised share capital in your incorporation documents.
- How long does registration take?
- Usually 7 to 10 working days once your documents are in order. Delays happen mainly when a proposed name gets rejected or details don't match across documents.
- What do I need to do right after incorporation?
