FAQs
- How many partners does an LLP need?
- At least two designated partners, one of whom must be a resident of India. There's no upper limit on partners.
- Does an LLP need audited accounts?
- Only if turnover exceeds ₹40 lakh or capital contribution exceeds ₹25 lakh in a financial year. Below that, a simpler compliance regime applies.
- Can an LLP raise equity funding?
- Not in the way a private limited company can. Investors who want equity typically ask LLPs to convert to a private limited company first.
